UF students, faculty and staff may ride RTS public transportation fare-free by presenting a Gator 1 card. RTS offers multiple bus routes on campus with service to every area of the University, as well as routes throughout the City of Gainesville.

Does RTS run on Sunday?
Maps and Schedules RTS runs on a Holiday (Sunday) schedule on these days only: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (4th of July), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If you have any questions, or need a braille or large-print version of a schedule, contact us at 585-288-1700.
What time do UF buses stop running?
We currently offer two routes, Orange and Blue, both operating Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Shuttles arrive at the stops on each route at 15-20 minute intervals throughout the day, and a map of both routes and additional details are available below.
How do I use RTS bus?
Get Ready
- Get There Early: Plan to be at your bus stop five minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- Step Back: Stand back from the curb when the bus approaches.
- Take Your Time: Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and for the doors to open before you try to board.
- Get Comfy: Pay your fare.
Is RTS Gainesville free?
Any employee will be able to show an RTS bus driver his or her ID card and enjoy RTS fixed-route services for free, with the exception of special services such as Gator Aider, etc.
What is the rider app?
Parents need to know that Rider is a physics-based arcade game that’s safe for all ages. By touching your device’s screen, you both accelerate your motorcycle over the jump-filled terrain and, when it’s airborne, spin it counter-clockwise in hopes of landing it back on its wheels.
What is TransLoc app?
TransLoc is the app used to track University shuttles in real-time. The TransLoc app is available for both iOS and Android devices. The app has improved shuttle location services and projected arrival times, and arrival alerts are available to tell you when your ride is approaching.
How does RTS work demand?
RTS On Demand is a type of ride sharing service. Additional customers may be picked up and dropped off during your ride, or while you are waiting for your ride, and this may affect your pick up time. You will receive pick-up time updates through the app, or by calling Customer Service.
How do you get around UF campus?
Gator Lift provides reliable, convenient and free shuttle service to accessible locations within the boundaries of the campus of the University of Florida for students, faculty and staff with mobility related disabilities. Gator Lift service is provided Monday – Friday from 7 AM – 11 PM.
How do you use Gainesville RTS?
Access real-time arrival times in three easy steps:
- Find your stop code (where is it?)
- Text RTS [stop code] to 41411. Be sure to text the word RTS, a space, and then the actual stop code number. Without a stop code you will be presented a list of routes to choose from.
- Receive real-time arrival times.
Is scribble rider OK for kids?
Parents need to know that Rider is a physics-based arcade game that’s safe for all ages. While there’s no inappropriate content in the game, it’s a bit ad happy.
